Baltimore Jet Charter arranges private flights from Baltimore to casino destinations and race meetings, and flights into Baltimore for racing fans coming to the Preakness.
Atlantic City, Las Vegas and other casino trips
Atlantic City is a short flight up the coast from BWI, and a turboprop or very light jet covers it comfortably. Las Vegas is about 1,825 nautical miles away, and for that distance we usually suggest a super midsize jet. If you have another destination in mind, tell us where you are staying and your advisor will find the airport nearest to it.
These trips are usually social, and the group tends to grow before the booking. Give us the real headcount and an idea of the luggage early, because both affect which aircraft will work. We can also help you arrange ground transportation through a third-party provider at the other end.
The Preakness at Pimlico
The 152nd Preakness is at Pimlico on Sunday, May 23rd, 2027, with the Black-Eyed Susan the day before. Owners, their guests and racing fans come in from all over the country for the weekend, and both BWI and Martin State serve the race.
Aircraft for that weekend get booked early. We do not give firm quotes too far in advance, because availability shifts, but call early and we will tell you when it makes sense to lock it in. If you are coming for both days, let us know, so your advisor can plan the return for Sunday evening or the day after.
Other race meetings
We also arrange flights for Maryland racing fans heading to the big race meetings elsewhere. Tell us the track and the race you want to see, and your advisor will look for the airport nearest to the track and plan the return around the last race of the day. For the longer trips, such as Las Vegas or a race meeting out west, our super midsize jets page shows the aircraft we usually suggest.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Baltimore-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
BWI Marshall is about nine miles south of downtown Baltimore, owned by the State of Maryland and operated by the Maryland Aviation Administration, and Martin State Airport in Middle River, about ten miles east of downtown, suits Towson and Hunt Valley. There is no jet airport in Annapolis, so jet trips for Annapolis and the Naval Academy usually use BWI, about 17 miles away. Easton Airport serves St. Michaels and Oxford while Salisbury serves Ocean City. Baltimore winters can bring snow and the occasional nor’easter, summer brings afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. Late May, with the Preakness and the Naval Academy’s Commissioning Week, the holidays and summer weekends on the Eastern Shore book up first, so tell us your dates early.
