Baltimore Security & Armored Transport for Private Jets

Baltimore Jet Charter arranges private flights in and out of Baltimore for clients who travel with personal security, and we can help arrange bodyguards and armored ground transportation through third-party providers.

Security on the drive to and from the aircraft

For most clients, the drive to and from the airport needs the most planning. We can help you arrange an armored vehicle and security personnel through a third-party provider, timed to your departure and arrival, whether the trip starts downtown, in the northern suburbs or in Annapolis. If you already have your own security team, we will coordinate the flight schedule with them.

Counting your security team as passengers

Security staff fill seats as well, so give us the full size of the traveling party, along with all of the luggage. A principal traveling with three security staff may need a larger aircraft than the principal alone, and a few extra bags can rule out an aircraft, even if it has enough seats.

Keeping the trip confidential

If the trip is confidential and requires extra discretion, tell your advisor when you first call, and we will handle it that way from the start. We only share passenger names and itineraries with the operator and the crew assigned to your flight, and with the security provider when you have asked us to involve one.

Security at your destination

We can also help arrange ground security at the other end of the trip through a third-party provider there. Requirements for private security differ from one state or country to another, so mention what you need when you first call, and we will confirm what the provider can arrange before you travel. For clients who also want a low-profile trip, our VIP and celebrity charter page has more.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Baltimore-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

BWI Marshall is about nine miles south of downtown Baltimore, owned by the State of Maryland and operated by the Maryland Aviation Administration, and Martin State Airport in Middle River, about ten miles east of downtown, suits Towson and Hunt Valley. There is no jet airport in Annapolis, so jet trips for Annapolis and the Naval Academy usually use BWI, about 17 miles away. Easton Airport serves St. Michaels and Oxford while Salisbury serves Ocean City. Baltimore winters can bring snow and the occasional nor’easter, summer brings afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. Late May, with the Preakness and the Naval Academy’s Commissioning Week, the holidays and summer weekends on the Eastern Shore book up first, so tell us your dates early.
