Baltimore Jet Charter arranges team travel for professional, college, high school and club programs flying out of Baltimore, and for visiting teams coming in to play here.
Planning a team trip
We work with coaches, team managers and travel coordinators. To start, send us the game schedule, the traveling roster with staff, and a list of the equipment. Equipment cases and team bags take up a lot of room and weight, and they can rule out an aircraft, even if it has enough seats. Your advisor will size the aircraft against the whole load.
Roster size and the aircraft
A coaching staff on a scouting trip, or a small traveling party, fits in a midsize or heavy jet. Those flights operate under FAR Part 135, the FAA’s set of rules for on-demand, for-hire charter. When your total passenger count outgrows a heavy jet and the group consists of more than nineteen passengers, the aircraft required would fall into regional airliner, or airliner-size. These trips would no longer fall under the FAR Part 135 standards but possibly operate under FAR Part 121 or foreign equivalent standards. Part 121 and equivalent generally carry stricter crew and operating requirements than FAR Part 91 and FAR Part 135. A full roster with staff often reaches that size, so tell us the headcount early.
Teams coming to Baltimore
Visiting teams fly in for games against the Ravens and the Orioles, and college basketball programs come in for the CIAA tournaments at CFG Bank Arena, February 22nd-27th, 2027. We arrange the flights, and we can help you arrange ground transportation through a third-party provider for the ride to the hotel and the game.
Getting home after the game
Games run long, and a team that flies home the same night sleeps in its own beds. Tell us when you book if you want a same-night return, and we will plan the departure with the operator. If you are planning a whole season, send us the schedule. We do not give firm quotes too far in advance, because availability shifts, but we will tell you when it makes sense to lock each trip in. You can see the larger aircraft on our VIP airliners page.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Baltimore-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
BWI Marshall is about nine miles south of downtown Baltimore, owned by the State of Maryland and operated by the Maryland Aviation Administration, and Martin State Airport in Middle River, about ten miles east of downtown, suits Towson and Hunt Valley. There is no jet airport in Annapolis, so jet trips for Annapolis and the Naval Academy usually use BWI, about 17 miles away. Easton Airport serves St. Michaels and Oxford while Salisbury serves Ocean City. Baltimore winters can bring snow and the occasional nor’easter, summer brings afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. Late May, with the Preakness and the Naval Academy’s Commissioning Week, the holidays and summer weekends on the Eastern Shore book up first, so tell us your dates early.
