Baltimore Summer Camp Private Jet Charter

Baltimore Jet Charter arranges summer camp flights for families in Baltimore and across Maryland, from the first drop-off of the season to the last pickup.

Drop-off, family weekend and pickup

There are three guaranteed dates for a summer camp: drop-off, family weekend, and pickup. Every family at the camp is working to the same dates, so call us early to talk them through. We do not give firm quotes too far in advance, because aircraft availability shifts, but we will tell you when it makes sense to lock in your trip. Grandparents and siblings often come along for family weekend, so give us the full headcount for that one.

Getting close to camp

Many camps are a long drive from a major airport. A turboprop or a very light jet covers most of the Northeast from Baltimore, and smaller aircraft can often use the small airports closer to camp. Give us the camp’s name and town, and we will look for the airport nearest to it. Runway needs are calculated by the operator for that day’s conditions, and we confirm them with the operator. For the last part of the trip, we can help you arrange ground transportation through a third-party provider.

Trunks, duffels and children flying alone

Camp trunks and duffel bags fill a small aircraft quickly, so give us a count of the bags along with the passengers. If a child will be flying without a parent, tell us when you first call. Each operator has its own requirements for that, and we will let you know what the operator on your trip asks for.

Flying with another family

If your child’s best friend is going to the same camp, both families can fly together on one aircraft. Please note that we only contract with one person and can only accept payment in full from the main contact on the contract. Our turboprops page shows the smaller aircraft that suit most camp trips.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Baltimore-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

BWI Marshall is about nine miles south of downtown Baltimore, owned by the State of Maryland and operated by the Maryland Aviation Administration, and Martin State Airport in Middle River, about ten miles east of downtown, suits Towson and Hunt Valley. There is no jet airport in Annapolis, so jet trips for Annapolis and the Naval Academy usually use BWI, about 17 miles away. Easton Airport serves St. Michaels and Oxford while Salisbury serves Ocean City. Baltimore winters can bring snow and the occasional nor’easter, summer brings afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. Late May, with the Preakness and the Naval Academy’s Commissioning Week, the holidays and summer weekends on the Eastern Shore book up first, so tell us your dates early.
