Baltimore Jet Charter arranges private flights for fans and corporate groups traveling from Baltimore to games and tournaments around the country and abroad, and for visitors flying in to watch the Ravens, the Orioles or the Preakness.
Preakness weekend at Pimlico
The 152nd Preakness runs at Pimlico on Sunday, May 23rd, 2027, with the Black-Eyed Susan the day before. Racing fans and corporate hosts fly in for the weekend, and the same stretch brings Commissioning Week in Annapolis and the start of Memorial Day weekend. If you are coming in for the race, call us as soon as you know your dates. We do not give firm quotes too far in advance, because aircraft availability shifts, but we will tell you when it makes sense to lock the trip in.
Ravens and Orioles games
Visiting fans fly in for Ravens home games through the fall, and for Orioles games from the home opener on March 29th, 2027. Baltimore fans do the same in the other direction, following either team on the road. For a night game, tell us if you want to fly home that evening. We will plan the return with the operator and allow time in case the game runs long.
Events overseas
For a tournament or a final in Europe, you will need a long-range jet. London is about 3,140 nautical miles from BWI, and Paris is about 3,305. Landing permits and authorizations are generally applied for after a trip has been secured on the aircraft schedule. On an international trip, your advisor and the operator plan where the aircraft clears customs.
Hosting clients at the game
Many of these trips are corporate hospitality, with a host bringing clients or staff along. Give us a realistic headcount early, along with the bags and any golf clubs or other gear, so we can size the aircraft properly. We arrange specialty in-flight catering as an add-on at an additional fee. Selections are tailored to client preferences and confirmed before departure. For a whole team or a larger supporters’ group, see our page on sports team charter flights.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Baltimore-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
BWI Marshall is about nine miles south of downtown Baltimore, owned by the State of Maryland and operated by the Maryland Aviation Administration, and Martin State Airport in Middle River, about ten miles east of downtown, suits Towson and Hunt Valley. There is no jet airport in Annapolis, so jet trips for Annapolis and the Naval Academy usually use BWI, about 17 miles away. Easton Airport serves St. Michaels and Oxford while Salisbury serves Ocean City. Baltimore winters can bring snow and the occasional nor’easter, summer brings afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. Late May, with the Preakness and the Naval Academy’s Commissioning Week, the holidays and summer weekends on the Eastern Shore book up first, so tell us your dates early.
