Baltimore Jet Charter arranges private flights for Baltimore companies with meetings that cannot move, from one executive going to New York for the day to a team visiting three cities in two days.
Starting from the right airport
An office downtown or in Harbor East usually starts from BWI Marshall. For a team in Towson or Hunt Valley, Martin State in Middle River is often the more convenient airport. Visitors coming to Baltimore for a meeting can land at either one, and we can help you arrange ground transportation through a third-party provider.
Day trips up and down the East Coast
Teterboro, which serves New York City, is about 155 nautical miles from BWI. Boston and Charlotte are each about 315. A turboprop or very light jet covers these trips comfortably, and it is often possible to visit two cities and still be back in Baltimore the same evening, subject to scheduling and aircraft availability. For Chicago, about 530 nautical miles, or Atlanta, about 485, we usually suggest a light jet.
A private cabin also gives your team somewhere to talk through the meeting on the way there and go over the result on the way home.
What your advisor needs from you
Send the route, the dates, the number of travelers and any time that cannot move. If a board meeting starts at 9 a.m., say so, and we will build the schedule around it. If you give us the address of the meeting, we can get you as close to it as the airports allow.
If the trip is confidential and requires extra discretion, tell your advisor when you first call, and we will handle it that way from the start.
Regular routes and larger teams
If your company flies the same routes every month, tell us at the outset. Knowing the pattern helps your advisor plan each trip, so you are not starting from scratch every time. For a whole department or a company offsite, our corporate retreat page explains how we plan larger groups.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Baltimore-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
BWI Marshall is about nine miles south of downtown Baltimore, owned by the State of Maryland and operated by the Maryland Aviation Administration, and Martin State Airport in Middle River, about ten miles east of downtown, suits Towson and Hunt Valley. There is no jet airport in Annapolis, so jet trips for Annapolis and the Naval Academy usually use BWI, about 17 miles away. Easton Airport serves St. Michaels and Oxford while Salisbury serves Ocean City. Baltimore winters can bring snow and the occasional nor’easter, summer brings afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. Late May, with the Preakness and the Naval Academy’s Commissioning Week, the holidays and summer weekends on the Eastern Shore book up first, so tell us your dates early.
